Wedding planners, wedding planners abroad, should you use a wedding planner for your wedding abroad.

Wedding planners can be very useful if you don’t speak the language and they can also be useful to take care of all the paperwork to make sure that the marriage is legal, wedding planners are usually a small company or an individual who has the local contacts and can make your wedding abroad run more smoothly and become more memorable.

A lot of wedding planners abroad charge flat fees according to the number of guests you have at the wedding, others charge a percentage of the total wedding cost, it is always best to try and get a flat fee from the planner and ensure that this is the total charge with no added extras. Wedding planners can also be very useful in negotiating with bars, restaurants and florists etc, and may ask for a percentage of any discounts that they can get for you.

You will be having lots of contact with your wedding planner both by telephone and email plus you may want to meet them and speak face to face because the only way that they can make sure that you get exactly what you want is to get to know you both well, you should ask to see testimonials and references for previous weddings that they have planned and if possible contact some previous clients, you should also ask the planner if they will be ‘onsite’ on the day to make sure that everything runs according to plan.

Some wedding planners will want you to spend over a certain amount on the wedding before they agree to plan it, so find out in advance.
